MashMetrics Analytics Jam - Week 3 - Using Google Data Studio with Keyword Hero and Onpage Hero
MashMetrics weekly Analytics Jam features Priscilla Neto demonstrating how we combine Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Ads, Keyword Hero, Onpage Hero and more with Google Data Studio.
Using Google Data Studio to combine several data-sources and CASE dimensions to group data
In this week’s MashMetrics Analytics Jam Marketing Analyst Priscilla Neto walks through our Google Data Studio dashboard template that we deliver to our Data Adoption Plan clients.
WHAT SCENARIO DID WE COVER THIS WEEK?
In order to provide our customers with a 360 degree view of their website behaviour, we combine various data sources into a single Google Data Studio template. Furthermore, we make extensive use of CASE Dimensions in order to group data for better comprehension while also allowing retroactive Custom Channel Groups and Content Groups to be created.
WHAT IS THE CHALLENGE / PROBLEM?
There is amazing data within Google Analytics, however, it is spread out and hard to understand. The second challenge is that data is spread out between multiple tools, making it difficult to keep tabs on the most important changes across the board. The data comes from not one, not two, but five data-sources, and that is before adding additional advertising vendors.
WHAT IS THE SOLUTION WE DEMONSTRATED?
The dashboard combines Google Analytics, Keyword Hero, On-Page Hero, Search Console, and Google Ads data all in one place.
The dashboard makes use of custom dimensions using the CASE function to create retroactive Custom Channel Groups, Content Groups, Keyword Rank categories, User Depth, and so much more.
